Rolling out a makeover for Meadows
As you may have noticed, I'm working on a redesign of the Meadows layout and style. This will be a gradual process where I will deploy changes to one or a few pages at a time. Goals:
- easier to use, a better experience for you
- faster loading on slow connections
- a more consistent look and feel
- building a layout foundation, so we can add new features for you more quickly
And let's face it, the existing design wasn't the most exciting. What do you think of the new purple highlights?
Zip file upload for stimulus sets
The whole process starts now, with the page for building a Stimulus Set. I started there, because I've also added a new feature: You can now upload a zip file with stimuli! Previously you'd have to select individual files, and the interface didn't work smoothly for more than about 100 files.
Instead you can now compress your files in a single zip file, and then upload it in one go. This may take a few minutes but you can go grab a coffee in the mean time! This way you can compile stimulus sets with tens of thousands of files.
The new page should also make it much easier to work with text stimuli. You can enter words or sentences one at a time or upload a table.
Documentation
Feeling lost? Last year I revamped the documentation as well. There you can read about all the various options on Meadows. For stimuli for example, you can read about how to create a new set and add text stimuli.
Next steps
I'm aiming to convert a handful of pages every month, so that the whole app should be transformed in about half a year. Every time I make a change like this it's important to test things as thoroughly as possible. But as always, if you come across any bugs, have questions, or have any feedback on the new aesthetic, send me an email (jasper@meadows-research.com).
